An album is not more a work of art than the distribution of paintings in an art gallery during a painter's show. People can bid for the individual paintings, obviously.

The rest is simply greed. Many artists are realizing that to make money they are going to go on concert tours because the record industry is in trouble. Would Metalica and company be this picky when they are no longer hip?
Yet there are many old-timers that have seen a resurgence on the sales of pieces that were not sold because of production and promosion costs.

Obviously, it is a business decision, whether Apple deals with them or not. But it remains an insult to the consumer who is asked to pay for the whole gallery of pieces when you are only interested in one.
