For me, the price hike is somewhat secondary. I accept annual and/or sporadic price increases for drugs because I also accept the notion that drug companies are putting profits into research and development. I consider that to be the social covenant. It is strained occasionally, but generally remains intact.

However in this particular case, I'm extremely skeptical of Turing's claims that they intend to use this price increase for research and development. Simply put, I don't believe it. The management has shown its tendency to try and be "smart" and make money simply out of the grey areas within the infrastructure of the drug development business. It's now to the point where they're practically flaunting the grey areas in everyone's face.
