It also was a delight, Ramamurthy indicated, to cross paths with some new heroes, who are a diverse bunch. For instance, there’s Tommy (Robby Kay, “Once Upon a Time”), an awkward teen whose power is making things and people disappear; Miko (Kiki Sukezane), a young swordswoman on a quest to find her father, which requires her to jump in and out of a video game; and Carlos (Texan Ryan Guzman, “The Boy Next Door”), an Afghanistan war veteran who lends support to the persecuted EVOs by donning a superhero costume as “El Vengador.”

In between travels to Vancouver for “Reborn,” Ramamurthy has been kept so busy in London working and being a dad to his two kids, it has been tough to find time for visits to San Antonio, where his parents still live.

He’s particularly excited about his role as a prison warden in a new British TV series, “Lucky Man,” which teams comic-book legend Stan Lee with “Downton Abbey” producer Carnival Films. It’s a “psychological thriller, but with a graphic-novel element to it,” he said. It stars James Nesbitt (“The Missing”) as a cop who’s given a charm that seems to confer upon the owner the power to control luck.

It’s due to premiere in England next year, but also is being distributed internationally by NBC Universal, so it likely will play in in the United States as well, he said, “maybe on a premium channel or on Netflix or Amazon
.”
