I think we need a new tree branch of posts surrounding Dr. Califf and of course my #1 goal is bringing to surface the ties to Duke and Barton Haynes. So does Dr. Califf know of the early years of the late Dr. Philip Thorpe and Bavituximab research ? Absolutely YES and will he go on record to say he is aware any sabotage towards Peregrine Pharmaceuticals, which did not just start at CSM in Fargo ND led by CEO Gerald Finken... it ended there (hopefully) and the question is where did it all stem from??? .. hmmmmm

New med chair readies for post

Dr. Robert Califf, professor of cardiology, and Dr. Barton Haynes, outgoing chair of the Department of Medicine, both stressed the need for a collaborative environment, which they said Goldschmidt is capable of fostering.

"We're evolving structurally from independent departments to a structure where the departments are interrelated," Califf said, adding that the departments depend upon each other and upon the new institutes and centers.

Haynes further explained that Goldschmidt would unify basic science researchers and clinicians to form a "translational" research enterprise. "He has been successful in bringing people together and will continue to do so," he said.

this post is simply showing a very little glimpse of the past and Dr. Califf ties to Duke/Barton Haynes to just start with and we shall see where it all leads, because if Haynes knew first hand then Dr. Califf likely knows much more....especially since being given the go ahead to head up the FDA.
