Entogenetics is using silkworms...


I stand corrected. Sorry. They all run together in my head sometimes.

Still the same situation though. The location wont really help.

One thing I can say is that if they are successful they will be making history. Sericulture has never been successful in the USA.

There have been silk companies in the past but none have ever been able to produce silk inside the country at any sort of profit.

Even with government backing and free for the asking silkworm eggs the industry could not produce the silk for a profit.

And I personally would want to see some violin strings before I would believe Entogenetics.

The one common thread in the "competition" is that they all seem to have the fiber then they fade away only to come back a few years later with the announcement of the creation of the "first" spider silk produced by man.
