1) Does GOSY know the ins & outs of Pepper? What type of hardware used, what protocol, what controllers, what sensors, etc etc...
2) Would Softbank provide those tech data to GOSY or to any other hardware developer? At most I reckon, would be a SDK for apps development.
3) Who is going to install the upgrade kit if there exist one?
4) Who is going to service the upgraded Pepper? SB or GOSY?
5) Costs?
My opinion is, the upgrade kit won't happen. Pepper is not some kind of open source project from SB. It is like trying to hardware mod your iphone.
All IMO of course.
You don't buy sensors through an app store. You don't buy boards through an app store. People will use Pepper longer if it has reasonable autonomy.
IMO - it is likely that there will be a SafePath navigation kit available for all peppers.
