No, it's quite common here in stinky pinky land to "leak" false information to like that to have it spread through social media. That way, they can have "plausible deniability" of the LIE!
See proof, highlighted in red, above. Why else would the company "leak" information to a select few and not announce it. Anyone not new to stinky pinky land should immediately recognize that often used tactic.
