Just keep in mind that during trial the court only looks at the law, nothing else matters, as for the rest, closing arguments can be used to sway the jury to your side, but has little effect on the court unless there is law that ties in the topic. That's why cross is so important, this is where a good lawyer who knows how to cross can tie the non-law with the law. All questions must be leading, short and never argue with the witness nor let the witness repeat from his past testimony, oh yes, never ask a question to which you don't know the answer to and listen to the response.
