The ugly truth about HHSE lawsuits.
Unlike most here, I am actually a film industry professional. So I know that the business of studio distrubotor is thankless and ripe for criticism. If a film sells well, it's because the producer is brilliant. If a film sells poorly, it's because the distributor sucks - and these bad sales are not representative of the market's response to a poorly made film! As a result a lot of frivolous or baseless lawsuits are filed against distributors, ranging from unpaid interns (see LA Times on LIONSGATE), to creditors that want to change payment terms. The ugly truth about HHSE is that they have far fewer lawsuits than any other company in the indie sector. Lionsgate is tracking at 2 lawsuits per week (around 100+ per year), yet it takes HHSE 21 years to get around 100 in total? Are the HHSE guys slacking off in this department? If HHSE stepped up its lawsuits, would they hit the $1-BN revenue range of Lionsgate? It's an ugly truth, but I concur that HHSE is lagging way behind in the litigation arena.http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/envelope/cotown/la-et-ct-lionsgate-interns-20140613-story.html
