$PIRS Rodman Bio Conference presentation takeaways

Rodman conference link
http://www.wsw.com/webcast/rrshq25/pirs/index.aspx

My takeaways:

- They have a real deep bench/team on both the scientific side and industry. Some pretty successful docs and biotech professionals have joined their team

-Orbimed lead investor (19%), they have participated in their first funding around in 2008 and EVERY funding round to date! Other important european bio/hedge fund support including Novo Nordisk, Lombard Odier,...

-strong big pharma partnerships in particular Sonofi, Allergan, Daiichi Sankyo

-Specific Catalyst date -Key P1 data for their proof of concept anemia trial and importantly validates platform/ Anticalin proof of concept. Data will be presented as ASH or ASN. Company said they with PR which one soon.

-P1b to start this year, (my read is if company is already talking about moving to P1B the P1 data to be presented/released as ASN or ASH is good)

-Lot of Q4 updates/"news flow" to be expected. See slide 29 minute 22:18 is a good recap slide

- 45m raised in last 9 months. 36m cash, no debt

I own both as a catalyst trade and a slug of core shares that I plan to hold over the next few years. It's a platform play with huge upside as they develop Anticalin molecules which essentially are 8x smaller then the hugely successful monoclonal antibodies. Broad IP spectrum of targets, lots of partnership possibilities. They stand alone in the Anticalin space. This is an early stage company with a lot of big pharma and european bio/hedge fund support.

Napodano has solid coverage on the company, here is his July 15 overview
