Instagram's 2020 Revenue Seen Topping $5B -- Market Talk

14:43 EDT - Instagram could draw $5.8B in revenue by 2020, dwarfing the $1B that Facebook (FB) paid for photo-sharing app in 2012, says Cowen. It notes there is high demand for Instagram ads--especially from e-commerce, travel, entertainment and retail companies. Instagram opened its ad platform in June and has grown quickly on the back of Facebook's ad tools. Today, it expanded its self-serve ad platform to all advertisers and introduced a 30-second video-ad format. Cowen estimates Instagram will draw $700M in revenue this year.
