I have looked at hip replacement metal pieces and most offer little to no good surface for bony regrowth. They are too smooth. EBM implants are much better in this regard but it will be very hard to prove since only dislocation or tearing it out will give hard evidence. Too bad. Because hip implants are mostly held in by weight, muscles, maybe a small screw or two ( cement is seldom used today) Bone regrowth, according to my hip surgeon, is "very slow" It is amazing to me that the implants hold at all.
But considering usual FDA obstructionism this seems unlikely. Also the big companies tend to buy up any smaller competitors that might disturb the status quo.
