Talk about understating the situation... Why was there no mention in the PR of Dr. Ron St. John accompanying Shannon? (He's the chap in the green shirt next to Dr. Shannon in the airport photo, and it's interesting that he's the only one who's not pulling his own luggage LOL.)

I would have thought that this would have been a major point to emphasize.

I remember hearing a while back that the WHO appointed St. John to monitor the world response to the MERS epidemic. His joining Shannon means that this trip is viewed as part of a global initiative, not just a local Saudi project.

This omission kind of makes me think that there's more to come.
