The rate of uninsured was at an all-time high, and housing starts weren't starting. Flash forward to present day-we are nearing full employment, production, home values are rising, and more people have access to health care than ever. In any sane country, with sane people not led by a leash by the latest fly-by-night sophist, the President who presided over a national resurrection would have an approval rating in the 70s. Minimum.

Depends on your perspective. The man to me, has been easily the greatest President of my lifetime and is equaled only by FDR for modern Presidents. History will show how great he truly was, and someday, when crotchety racist white people move on, our country will too.

But there is simply no rational explanation for why in this era he is so unappreciated. Wait-maybe there is! Maybe the fact that when this black Democrat showed some courage and took real stands on real issues and held real feet to fires his own party members ran for the hills had an effect. Maybe when the Alison Grimes of the world, the Natalie Tennants of the world, outright campaigned against him that created a problem.

Maybe an entire party owes a great leader a full apology-and it is NOT the Republicans.
