I believe they converted them into shares. This is why they were able to buy in at times at lower prices than the highest bids. They were allowed to convert them into shares at half the price of the lowest pps in a 20 day period. It looks like they bought 6-7 million at .0005. that's just from looking at the 7 million in volume from the day. I don't know what the actual volume was for that trade. This is why those $5 dollar sells into the bid made sense if it would drop it the pps lower for them. Now they own the shares and have an interest in the pps going up. They were also at times blocking the ask with 10,000 share asks that wouldn't disappear after hitting them. I couldn't figure out the logic behind all of this until now. It makes me even more stoked for the future of the stock price. News that comes out now might actually gain some traction.
