Lately I have been contemplating and struggling with the madness that is persistent in the world and my country. This madness seems to be leading to death and destruction. And the madness seems overwhelming at times.

Is there a way out of this madness? Is the answer climate change? Is the answer the UN? Is the answer in government? Is the answer in our leaders? Is there an answer?

I have concluded that there is a way out of the madness. The answer is God! The answer is in prayer and seeking first the kingdom of God.

Tomorrow is the funeral for the police officer killed in Houston (a direct result of the madness in the world). I ask my fellow Christians here to pray for the safety of those who protect us (police officers, firemen, and our military), pray for unity in our country, and pray for those around the world standing firm in their Christian faith even to the point of death.

Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world!
