conix -- no, of course not, at least not at the level of individuals acting badly, extremely so or more mundanely just (dishonestly) self-servingly (for the record, there is not a thing wrong with a public-sector employee taking pride in a career and doing the job well and seeking advancement and thus self-interest that way, just like with any private-sector employee) -- we're a nation of over 300 million, over 200 million 18 or older, about half-and-half by side; plenty of ringers at that level out there to be popping up pretty much anywhere and everywhere as time goes by

but in terms of being reality-based (and thus of being in any meaningful sense honest), there is a yawning opposition -- in general, the Democrats at least try to acknowledge and deal with/in terms of facts, things as they are, and at least as often as not do a fair enough job of it -- in opposition, the Republicans/Teaflublicans, in particular currently/in recent years as they've come more and more under the full control of our ascendant (Christo-)fascist deeply fundamentalist/absolutist/authoritarian radical right (which of course is now and recently has become their totally-dominant core base), have no reality they will not ignore and/or about which they will not openly, brazenly and quite absolutely deliberately, lie -- hardly the first deployment of a strategy of relentless Big Lie combined with relentless attacks upon and obstructions of the functioning of the existing at least relatively democratic government as the path to bringing down/taking power from/replacing the existing at least relatively democratic government
