I, extensively addressed the issue of ballast here months ago. All treasure carrying galleons found to date carried base hull ballast inspire of the heavy tonnages of treasure they carried; Atocha and Margarita of 1622, Concepcion of 1641, Maravilla 1656 and all of the 1733 galleons.
