This sounds like a myth. If you have shares in a margin account they can be lent out. You can always sell your shares in such an account whether or not you have a GTC order, and if you do the broker simply replaces any of your shares it has lent out with somebody else's shares. So I doubt that having a GTC order will prevent your broker from lending out your shares, particularly one at a price so high that it isn't likely to be exercised in years, if ever.
