Folks, the iHub community was never intended to replace RB, but merely to provide an alternative -- one with a different character. Diversity is good, and if iHub's AAPL board winds up as a replication of RB, with the same sort of character, then the idea will have failed and I and others who helped "build the house", so to speak, will have as well.

I'd always hoped this board would offer, not only a different character and environment than RB, but one in which we all could get a "fresh start" - a chance to break free of the pattern of responding to derision, jabbing and underhanded cheap shots, non-productive ****ing contests, etc.

dilleet did a nice job of summing that up in a post yesterday. In the RB environment, too many of us found ourselves stooping to the lowest common denominator, having our buttons punched in ways we wouldn't tolerate in "real life", and responding ways we weren't happy about either. Some of you are probably chuckling at my description, knowing (much to my chagrin) that it describes me as well as anyone.

In a nutshell, this blank canvas was to be one where we (I) had a second chance to be more vigilent in preventing that sort of thing from becoming the de facto rule of the day.

To the extent you're inclined, I hope you all will assist us in keeping the board on that plane.
