Lending one's reputation, especially publicly, is worth a lot and has a commensurate amount of risk. Can you just imagine all the players that would love to hitch their wagon with either player? Money is not the only measure of involvement, risk, or commitment. I'm sorry, just don't think Pere paying is that big of a deal...makes them the driver, frankly.
