I've said all along that I know nothing about the stock market, which is why I relied on my so called friend for guidance.

This doesn't make much sense. I know of no one who is a newbie to the markets who jumps in by going all-in on a penny stock like SCRC. Most, if not all, newbies start by buying shares of a blue chip or a small portfolio of blue chips. The situation being described of (a) someone's initial investment in the market being a penny stock, (b) someone's initial investment in the market being for their entire savings, and (c) someone who is not a card-carrying member of the CORE group being invited to participate in one of the earlier rounds of the toxic PIPE deal, is quite odd...
