Of course they are. All the short sales volume data that certain websites report and that gets posted to this and other message boards comes from the same place:
Finra's Office of Useless Information. (FOUI)

Here's the file format for the data:
Date | Symbol | Short Volume | Short Exempt Volume | Total Volume | Market

The Short Exempt Volume column was recently awarded Finra's Most Useless Information Imaginable Award. Rumor has it that the contest committee was tied up for months trying to choose between Short Volume and Short Exempt Volume, ultimately deciding on the column that was added three years after the report was created because it was the newest, shiniest column and because it has the most words in it.
