• According to the WSJ, Venezuela is pushing for an emergency OPEC meeting to come up with a plan to combat the rout in oil prices. Any strategy would likely need the cooperation of non-OPEC producers, namely Russia, says one OPEC delegate. • Russia would like closer ties with OPEC, but to this point hasn't had interest in cutting production to do so. • OPEC isn't scheduled to meet again until Dec. 4, and has shot down previous requests for an emergency meeting. • WTI crude oil is higher by 9.4% to $42.23 per barrel.
