What you're saying makes more sense than anything I've heard yet. What's sad is that Vance could perhaps have it both ways if he wanted. Businesses do this all the time: They produce and market their own stuff on a small basis, then hire themselves out as sub-contractors to produce for someone else who has a bigger contract than they can procure on their own. Naturally, they make less profit this way, but they can hire more workers, expand their business, and have their company name seen by more and more eyes.
Perhaps Vance doesn't want to grow and be any more than he is now, which is his prerogative.
In conjunction with this, it's possible that Molen can't find a producer for his own interests, thus losing contracts by not fulfilling them or losing potential contracts he never really cemented in the first place.
Either way, we lose.
Having said all that, I still need to pose and address one major question: If Molen's company Vega is basically a dead man walking, why did he go to the expense of putting together an open house a week and a half ago?
