Comments: The debate on her grad night is important, but only the tip of the iceburg. She still faces a June 22 trial date. For those who state she, and the rest of us who are stunned by this turn of events, should just deal with it should remember their words when this goes even further in June. You might not want to think about it, or do not think it is important enough to care about, but think about this. It has been said recently that with all the attention about this event, that the State, to cover itself and protect it's policy on Zero Tolerance, is going to have to go after Lindsay Brown as an example. She now faces the very real threat of going to prison for the full five years for this 'crime'. Five years of rape, dehumanization and degredation. All this in the name of Zero Tolerance and respect of authority. If you doubt this, read the many other cases that the institute has fought. In most cases they lost to the government. If the state admits to a wrong, it opens itself up to costly lawsuits. Out of self-presivation that very rarely happens. The steady decline in our basic freedoms is not going to stop, or even slow, if we all shake our heads and do nothing. Wishing that things like this would not happen is not enough. Write your congressman and let him know how you feel. Let them know that government through these tactics is unamerican and can not be further tolerated. Act now or get used to a very dark future...
