Hear hear! …. unrelated, but if anyone wants a good, fun read that sparks the imagination re: 3D printing/new technology; check out the novel, "The Diamond Age" by Neal Stephenson… I read it 7 years ago and "The Feed" in that book was one of many things that struck me….. [basically everyone has home composite 3D printers that print atoms at the nanoscale to essentially grow objects; stock for which is obtained by sucking up raw elements mostly from the seafloor.] When I heard of 3D printing for production that was the first thing I thought of. Obviously 3-D printing in the real world is nowhere near that- but I think as printers get cheaper and more refined, we will eventually see objects made directly in our homes…. and who knows, in our great-grand children's day, what the new technology will be.
