NeoMedia designed PaperClick 4.0 to be more expandable and flexible than the 3.0 platform it replaces, as well as more able to accommodate new ID types, such as RFID.
Version 4.0 also streamlines transaction processing, delivering shorter "click to content" time for users.
The PaperClick Gateway Service, new to the Version 4.0 architecture, allows carriers to increase affiliate revenue by directing "unmapped" UPC, EAN and ISBN codes to online merchants.
In addition, brand managers will be able to operate their own copies of the Version 4.0 Resolution Service, to be released later this year (FY05), as well as use the current resolution services provided by NeoMedia.
Web services in the new generation of PaperClick has been completely rewritten in Java, making them hardware independent and allowing installation on Microsoft® Windows®, many versions of Unix®, and other popular operating systems.
The new services are also compatible with a variety of industry standard databases, including Oracle® and Microsoft SQL Server.
