I do not have the PM option. I believe on Fridays its free so will have to wait until then. From what i understood it was the last President (Leonel Fernández) who gave the Punta Cana foundation their permit to conduct salvage on wrecks in their area so he was well aware of the importance of saving the Patrimony. I also remember the present president (Danilo Medina) coming to Playa Grande where they set up a viewing center for the artifacts we recovered from that area. You would think after that he would have also understood the importance as well.
What is also ironic is the photos in Pedro Borrels book could have not been possible without companies like ours. But again Pedro Borrel is well aware of the dire situation.
I live in Samana where i built a home. I had thought we would be working for at least a few more years. That didnt work out so good. But at least my wife and child will have a home no matter what happens to me. So something good has come from my participation in the salvage business.
These are Sr. Borrels photos of some of our recovered artifacts. I am sad that i had a folder of many photos by him but was lost when my last computer died.
