People get booted for dozens of reasons. If you're able to make a killer flip (maybe the .295 gap closes or something) and then go all-basher-all-the-time on that board you may be able to inflame to such a degree that it causes behavior that leads to a boot. Especially if a trader is holding 400,000+ shares.

Your extensive experience dealing with bashers and bashing yourself is probably why booting in your mind equates to many multiple accounts. In the heat of them moment people's emotions get the best of them. Some people are more savvy and they create an account at the library or something. Then the IH Admins need to make a judgement call. The common thread there is you have people simultaneously using multiple accounts to post on the same forum.

I've seen a lot of people walk away from iHub and then come back and open an account months or even years later without a problem. They aren't simultaneously using multiple accounts and iHub doesn't care much. I've seen them called out publicly which ends up being a TOS violation for the tattle-tale but the account holder is fine.

I also know of many people that have multiple accounts and use those multiple accounts but don't seem to raise any red flags and get away with it. I think their logic is that they have varied interests which they'd like to keep separate. Their multiple accounts don't post on any of the same forums so iHub doesn't seem to catch on but I imagine if they knew they would give the person the option of keeping one account and then iHub would boot the rest of the accounts.

I began seeing this a lot when I really started DD'ing gold. There are a number of commodity traders and they talk commodities. However they like to play the occasional penny miner so they have that other account available. I imagine they use some spare phone or tablet with a data plan which gives them another IP. They likely use that same device to order things or DD things not market related. Not necessarily bad but in a world so much in love with ridicule and shaming care needs to be taken when dealing with anything from male/female specific health problem or even donating to something like a pro-life organization.

People who function in the IR role for a company also fall in this category and there are a lot of them. It is tough for them to do IR for a company when their post history also contains all their personal holdings and views. So they have an IR account that only posts on the forums of their IR clients and they also have a personal account. Again because they aren't simultaneously posting on the same forums they are evidently able to get away with it.

Then again it could be a matter of "don't ask, don't tell" that the IH (Incredibly Helpful) Admins understand better than most. They certainly wouldn't want to put a single exception in the service terms and I'm certain their attorneys explained to them why in no uncertain terms.

Naming any of these publicly would be a TOS violation but I could send you an email or a PM on Friday. Actually email would be better. In this world of hackers where everything meant to be private ends up in the open the email route just seems the better way to go.
