It's observations such as yours that add the important insights, that make sites such as I HUB invaluable investment tools. Granted that, subscribers such as myself must filter out 95% of the posts. It's a great advantage to be fortunate enough to benefit from the addition of different points of view. But out of the Sites I've visited, I HUB is heads and shoulders above the rest. Thank You I HUB!!
After reading your post, I have gained a new perspective of this whole situation. Having extensive experience in the production manufacturing industry, I'll try to add my insight and possible clarify some of the ambiguity of the present status of this investment. And remember, I stated that I'll try to, there's no guarantee that I'm right.
Looking at the big picture, this deal isn't about selling individual Gen sets, it's about selling "turnkey" factories that are capable of mass producing the CSRV modified cylinder heads. The COATES company is not directly marketing the CSRV heads, they are marketing the factory that manufactures the CSRV heads. These cylinder heads will then be retrofitted onto the Cummins Gen sets. It's the claims made by the COATES company that this technology, is capable of allowing the existing Cummins generators to operate on flare gas and other fuels with greater efficiency. The COATES company has also made claims, that this technology can be expanded into other industrial engine markets as well, such as those that power the giant freighters. This initial production run is for the demonstration of the production process that will manufacture the CSRV heads, that the Turnkey factory will be capable of producing.
The fact is, this is how China has dramatically increased their country's wealth so rapidly, they invest in, design and market turnkey factories. In essence they mass produce and market the factories as a product, in as, factories mass produce and market consumer products. China is in the business of offering what is in the industrial world termed, "turnkey" packages to investors. Turnkey factories, are factories that are, ready for operation, training and all, and then the seller "turns the keys over" (Turnkey) to the investors. This is the purpose for having a man such as Jack Perkowski on board. It is within his expertise to convert a prototype into mass production and market the "Turnkey operation" to the investors.
Your question, whether the modification is to the part or the process that makes the part, is a good one. This question can be easily answered, both. Any tweak to the process changes the part and any tweak to the part changes the process. Your point really got me thinking though, and there might be something really big brewing here. Again it's only my opinion, but I think the hold up is due to, tweaking the manufacturing process for mass production. Having taken a small investment into the COATES company, I am still bullish, but still have some doubts. Some of my concerns are durability, due to lack of lubrication, cooling and the engines ability to maintain compression during compression and power strokes. Good Luck to ALL!!!
