These coins are dug up in the shallow water and sold to tourist, I bought these two and turned them over to the government. They had a hand full and had no qualms whatsoever that they had these coins in their possession. Just another day to them. Whatever it takes to provide for their families. Very rare colonial coins. Pillaged on a daily basis. No law enforcement to be seen. I have also this wrecks position as part of the bargain. Maybe UNESO could purchase a few coins and get the position of this wreck? I doubt it though as most Dominicans are very cautious about new comers.But they sure trust their Capt Billy and are always very happy to help. A trust that can only be had when someone is well known to the area and to the locals.
