No doubt there will be competition in the on-line music business

And this goes beyond that to the delivery of copyrighted content in addition to music. As long as Apple provides a reasonable way for customers to access their services and expands their customer base (internationally and by OS) and provides compelling digital devices for the enjoyment of that content away from desktop/laptop computers and other devicies, like discman, then I think they will do their share of business.

As far as Macintosh users, you never had it so good. It is a nice slogan. Fortunately, Apple as a company is expanding beyond its base of Mac users with other products, such as the iPod and, when it is ready, the commercial sale of digital content to the other 95% of computer users. While it may never be a huge part of their business, diversity of revenue stream is a good thing, and as many are wont to remind us, it will attract customers to the iPod and Mac platforms.
