Dutch Shell interest in EEGC is just a long-running joke here which is particularly appreciated by the old hand Mal-watchers. It began even before the merger of GSLM with Empire when Mal claimed Shell was trying to steal the ground from him and it has re-emerged periodically ever since. Some of his crew who know nothing about it really have kept it going on the message board under Mal's direction. The most recent outbreak of the legend was when the world's greatest living lawyer Paul Batista accused some here of being the nefarious ring leader of the Shell conspiracy (a certain Neil Ruut, a former Estonian consul to Tasmania now sadly disgraced and on the run) who is still plotting to seize the ground.

Just why Mad Mal has his long-running insane obsession with this particular piece of nonsense is something of a mystery. But for your info there is no Shell Oil waiting in the background to steal Mal's non-existent oil and there never was.
