Read what I said. I said that the DRAM would be a cache for Xpoint, and replace NAND.

Some one else suggested that DRAM could also be replaced. I am not so sure. It is a maybe and could happen in the second or third wave of low cost client designs if the speed requirements are low and if the Combination of Wear Leveling and Error Detection, Correction, Scrubbing is upto the task of managing the Wear Out of Xpoint. Will not find out unless the physics of the Programming and Wear Out are better understood and disclosed.

For at least two years or so Xpoint will likely be confined to Enterprise Storage Systems, and will be used in conjunction with DRAMs.
