Linux doesn't run MS office. Like it or not, this is pretty much required for working in corporate environments.

A very large percentage of software engineers in the valley use Macs.

Also the Mac hardware build and user experience (trackpad) is far superior to any Windows PC.

Battery life is also better due to superior power management software on OSX.

There's also a lower risk of virus infections.
