My source just relayed some food for thought that I do not have enough background knowledge to digest properly.

He suspects that heretofore unaffiliated Bill Phillips may have been brought in by the CEO as insurance to maintain continuity of operations upon possible criminal charges being brought against the current CEO. My source cannot dismiss the possibility that Mr Phillips is now being prepped as an agent of the current CEO to protect his personal interests as opposed to a strategic hire to expand a new line into the grey hair nutrition demographic.

This arrangement, if applicable and true, is just an minor move in the chess match between the investment firm and current management.

My source makes his living investing in situational implied volatility but as there are no options available on this equity, he is witnessing significant unreported off exchange transactions that have caught his attention.
