Lack of News
IMO the lack of news might be as a result of the following:
Since one of the slides did not deploy perfectly, the local FAA troops are fervently trying to get a waiver from FAA National to let it be a pass due to performance of the crew, Baltia professionalism, preparation, etc. No way the local FAA can pass them on their own if the slides didn't all work to specifications. Usually the local FAA is on the airline's side on these things especially when its something relatively low risk.
I certainly hope they win the day... and they just might... but that can be a tough sell. If everything worked perfectly, the ditching exercise would be done by now and a PR out. The ditching exercise is a no-brainer, merely a formality and only takes about 30 minutes. No reason not to have done it this afternoon at the latest.
Only other scenario I can think of is that Baltia is just totally blowing smoke at the people on here who called them today and that seems unlikely.
And no, I'm not going to post a link for the same reason others don't post a link about the tampering allegations and other revelations. Hope I'm wrong as I'm really anxious to hear about the proving tests with this aircraft.
