kim was on a short list for the award and he used that to his advantage..he knew he wasn't going to win so he didn't bother to attend...it wasn't to save the few thousand bucks..i suspect he drew the scorn and ill will of many who attended as well as the organization who gave the award....very poor judgment imo...
