Ruckus up 7.6% after Q2 sales beat, in-line guidance

Aided by relatively low expectations, Ruckus (NYSE:RKUS) has risen to $11.10 AH following its Q2 revenue beat and in-line EPS. Q3 guidance is for revenue of $94M-$99M and EPS of $0.10-$0.13, in-line with a consensus of $95.6M and $0.12.

Top-line figures: Americas revenue rose 19.1% Y/Y, Asia-Pac 13%, and EMEA 4.3%. 12 new service provider and 4,200 enterprise end-customers were added, respectively bringing the total bases to 230+ and 56K+; Q1 adds respectively totaled 19 and 3,700. 802.11ac Wi-Fi systems accounted for 71% of access point sales, up from 49% in Q1.

Financials: Gross margin fell to 68.1% from 70% in Q1 and 68.3% a year ago. GAAP operating expenses rose 17% Y/Y to $60.5M. Ruckus ended Q2 with $212M in cash/short-term investments, and no debt.
