Loof, it could need Bungler's opinion but when I read the first claim then these guys could at the MOST ex torque some cash from companies that do not know how to defend them against this.

1) I have NO recollection that PPHM designs, manufactures, sells, stores, or imports/exports any commercial HARDWARE. To infringe the patten they must apply a protected IP to an industrial product. So how could they be in violation of a patent that at the best describes a software algorithm.

2) The patent claims are full of 'logic errors'. they want to describe a computer, with the means for input and output, as one can see below they fill the memory with application programs and omit firmware and operating system, a situation that is FOR SURE not mosts defendants use of a computer. To infringe this PPHM must build whatever it is in the rest of the claims (that I don't even want to read after #1) in the ABSENCE of an operating system, because this claims CLAIMS the ability (invention) of being able to do it WITHOUT. Hence it controls itself the input devices (keyboard, mouse, etc). A general purpose COMPUTER (in patent terms a computer is a peace of hardware) as described can also not do this without a power supply.

And actually we need to read this claim #1 like this:

A system for proactively automating an operation of a general purpose computer ... by automatically intervening in a user's manipulations of the input device to present automating features,...

So what that says is for instance you move your mouse (that is the manipulations of an input device) and when you reach the edge of an input zone they, automatically intervene by moving the mouse pointer elsewhere (which would be the feature). DO not confound this with MOUSE OVER where a pop-up or so automatically appears!!! They CLAIM "to automatically intervene in the user's manipulation of the input device". And "to present automating features" whatever that may mean I don't know. At the best to present features allowing the user to furter automate something, but that would not be NEW, would it? All software sits full of that.
