To calculate the total tax burden you cannot sum the import duty and taxes to get the added cost of importing "beverages, spirits and vinegar" to Brazil.

That simply means each tax is dependent on other taxes like the IPI description says:

The basis of calculation is the retail sales price in Brazil; for imports, it is the sales price of the good and the import duty, plus other required fees.

In other words, don't base your tax calculation on the percentage numbers as they are likely to change.

However, the tax is are more than the "15% to 20%" stated by another as fact! A lot more!

But, back to the original topic of comparing tax information. As I understand it now, there is nothing to compare to the web site I linked to other than an alleged conversation with a "guy in Brazil".
