Ah, yes... the research expense. Forgive the slight sarcasm but did not see the partnerships with universities that are doing the actual work? It would be presumed the expense they put into it in return for usually royalties if this pans out. This keeps company expenses on research to a minimum because the 2-3 partnerships they do are picking up the tab. Enjoy :)

Once you know that tidbit the red herring of an issue goes poof.
