The oil price argument. In the Netherlands costs 1 litre of petrol € 1,60 € 1.05 of this is tax money. Although the price of crude oil is certainly a component, however, is of a secondary importance. Europe is very different from the us. Europe also has a shortage of natural gas and crude oil the us does not.
