I have used a Cyber Tracker and it is hardly excess baggage. It weighs so little that a scout wouldn't know whether it was in his backpack or not. And it will sure be nice for his parents to know exactly where he is on the hike. In addition, he'd just have to use the push to talk feature to make a call.

You really should know this information. I recommend that you take some time off from posting and do some DD. You seem to have a lot of questions, and very few answers.
