Something to keep in mind on Silver ...

There is an enormous destruction of demand going on in the photo industry. There is still an enormous amount of silver used in film processing, for which demand will simply evaporate in coming years. Also, as the cost of MRI and other advanced non-invasive diagnostic machinery continues to decline, and the difference in quality relative to X-rays continues to grow, there is going to be a decline in the demand for silver in the medical arena. The future of medicine is about 3-D computer images and the ability to harness microprocessors to do advanced analysis. The image of a doctor holding an X-ray up to a light is being replaced by one of the doctor peering at an image on a computer monitor.

If you're looking for a metal with a future, try platinum, which is used in fuel cells. It's pretty clear the fuel cell market is going to experience secular growth, and X-rays and film are going to experience secular declines.
