It is pretty clear that Schewe's loan goes primarily into Dr. K's pocket as "salary". In exchange. Schewe gets cheap shares and most likely the corporate shell which will could theoretically provide him with significant financial benefits down the road. I think that Basit may have been brought in because Schewe finally realized that energy projects have too many challenges and just take too long to commercialize, if they happen at all. An animal feed business might be easier to launch and may provide revenues quicker.

Having said that, I am not convinced they will be able to successfully commercialize GKG as animal feed in the Imperial Valley. The water access situation is continuing to become more challenging and this could make starting a new business there very difficult.
