Kevetrin is designated orphan drug status for ovarian cancer but is not an approved drug. That is, it can't be prescribed until it is approved by the FDA. It's a nice step. There are a number of benefits or Orphan Drug Designation including tax breaks, grants, elimination of and NDA filing fee but as stated on the page, the drug is not approved for use.
