You are comparing GM's EV1 to Tesla's Model S.
Exubera was too big, and patients didn't like carring it around (nonetheless most users were disappointed when it was pulled) and launched in an era where the internet was young (so the infrasturcture to convert Yanks to mg dosages from units was not there). You already have people on social media educating each other on how to optimally use Afrezza (and its in Units not mg so even less confusion anyway), user's glucose levels are stabilizing to a point where this will seriously impact the rationale for further drug development in the diabetes market.
Afrezza is literally selling itself at $1M/month revenue (estimated - but real numbers due next month). The amount of packs needed to be made, packaged and distributed to supply 5% of all diabetics is insane so don't underestimate production lag to supply/demand - no point in going all out with ads with the pharmacies are not stocked up, this isn't an iphone launch.

incidentally, a fun little resource:
http://www.goodrx.com/afrezza/price
is your locally pharmacy stocked? Then we are ready DTC and sales bumps.

Enjoy 4th July! Independence from injections is also here.
