Fire At Black Church In North Carolina Ruled Arson

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Investigators with the Charlotte Fire Department in North Carolina say a fire at a predominantly black church is arson.
A statement from the fire department said it took about an hour Wednesday to get the fire at Briar Creek Road Baptist Church under control. Two firefighters were treated for heat-related injuries.

Fire at Black Church in Ga. Ruled Arson
In the second such occurrence this week, fire investigators suspect an arsonist behind the blaze that claimed a black church in Macon, Ga.

For the second time this week, a black church has reportedly been set on fire, this time in Georgia, The Telegraph reports [ http://www.macon.com/2015/06/25/3814656_macon-church-fire-ruled-arson.html ].
According to the report, arson investigators are still awaiting test results from the scene of the fire at God’s Power Church of Christ in Macon, Ga. However, fire Sgt. Ben Gleaton told the news site that other factors have made Macon-Bibb County firefighters suspect arson. The report notes that the front door of the church was wired shut and locked when firefighters arrived at the scene, but a side door was unlocked.

Fire At Black South Carolina Church Investigated

WARRENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Federal and state investigators are looking into a fire that destroyed a predominantly black church in South Carolina.
Local media outlets report the fire destroyed the Glover Grove Missionary Baptist Church in the small town of Warrenville on Friday morning.
